This morning, beginning my long commute to work at 5:30am I thought i'd be able to walk the streets in peace. But, we all know that is just not a reality for most ladies. There I was walkin' about to walk into 3 men stumbling all over the place. My mind kept telling me to cross the street, but I've been here before.. and crossing the street can get you more attention than NOT. So I continued nervously.. mind you it is 5am in the morning and walking by 3 men at this time is already an alarm sign for me.
One man was stumbling over..like he had too much to drink. The other blatantly stopped and said his piece..
"Now look at this sexy thang walking here all late at night."
"fuck. i'm going to work just leave me a lone." I thought.
But I smiled in response. I tried to walk fast past them.. but then they all had a lot to say.
"Oh yeah..she's sexy. Can I walk you to the train ma? You see, bitch ain't answering me.."
Sometimes this stuff can be annoying.. and sometimes it can be plain ol' scary. I remember having a convo with one of my friends that says she doesn't mind it. In fact she loves that attention. But i don't see how. I tell my bf about it and he says the same thing like everyone does.. "You can't do anything but ignore it."
But i'm tired and fed up with it...So just wonderin' if i'm the only one with this issue.
